Why education reform needs a ten-year horizon

About

Karol Mark Yee works at the intersection of education, research, and public policy in the Philippines. His work examines how education systems can better serve learners, particularly those from disadvantaged communities, and how evidence can inform institutional and policy reform.

He is Executive Director of the Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM II), where he led the technical secretariat through the commission's 2026 final report. He previously served as Executive Director of the Commission on Higher Education, directed its K to 12 Transition Program, and began his career as a legislative officer under Senator Edgardo Angara.

He has taught at the Ateneo de Manila University and is a research fellow at the UP Center for Integrative and Development Studies and a research affiliate of PROPHE at SUNY Albany.
